Gushing psycho fan mother

Today the marching band had another opportunity to perform, this time at our annual community pride event.

We did our best to capture the band as it moved along the parade route, so if you want to see the video, click here.

You can begin to spot Ross playing snare around 1:12 and you can see him really well around 1:21, generally more toward the left side of your screen. He is between two female cymbal players, one African-American, the other wearing glasses.

Admittedly, I become a gushing psycho fan mother when it comes to marching band. I was never a part of anything this big in high school, so experiencing it as a parent is a lot of fun.

Here are some photos of the band if you don’t want to bother with the video:

After the parade, the band returned to school for lunch followed by three hours of practice. When John went to collect Ross, he got this photo of him playing guitar in the pit for the final number the kids will perform at competitions.
